Our Approach
We adhere to the highest standards of honesty and integrity.
We don't sell software; we sell services.
We value long-term partnerships with our clients (not a quick, one-time sale). We work as an extension of your organization and complete the work as efficiently as possible, to your usual high standards. We don't tax your internal resources.
Our pre-defined structure and terminology allow us to tailor inventory data uniquely to each client. Our software tools give us the flexibility to structure your information so that it makes most sense to you.
Project Champion
A Project Champion is required to assume overall responsibility for data and to manage the process and help work through solutions should any stumbling blocks occur. I.M.A. will establish a dedicated team to manage the project. The required number of support staff will gear up or down, as required. Weekly conference calls will be held to discuss project progress/obstacles/solutions for that site. Any problems, should they arise, will be tabled and the Champion will be asked to assist in resolving them as quickly as possible.
IT Resource
An IT resource is required to interact with our IT Manager and ensure that data is sent/received in an efficient manner. We would expect that his/her time will be required up-front to extract and send data to I.M.A. and then again in the uploading of the final database.
Maintenance/Stores Resources
We anticipate that approximately 10% of MRO items will lack enough information for I.M.A. to complete its work. Maintenance/Stores workers experienced in the various parts will be required to review lists of such items with missing information. Using the bin location and item number they will be required to physically search out the part and provide enough additional information (manufacturer name, manufacturer part number, basic description, etc.) to allow I.M.A. to complete its data scrubbing, standardization and enhancement work. Alternatively, if you engage our Catalog Management services, these items can be captured over time, as they are reordered. If internal resources are unavailable, some clients choose not to include these items in their database initially. Through our Catalog Management service, items are then added to the catalog if/when they come up for reorder.
Purchasing/Stores Personnel
Implementing the inventory rationalization efforts will take considerable time from Purchasing/Stores personnel for up to three months. Efforts include: establishing Preferred Supplier programs, negotiating supply returns, optimizing stocking levels, creating inventory strategies. I.M.A. would be happy to assist with any of these efforts.
